The Space Between: Bridging the Gap to Your Authentic Self

Authenticity isn't a destination or a practice, it’s a return to your true self.

We often talk about "finding ourselves" as if we are a lost set of keys hidden under a couch cushion. But the truth is more nuanced. Authenticity has always been available to you. It’s not lost and then found. It’s something you build a strong path to, one intentional choice at a time.

When you can bridge the gap between your deepest values and your daily actions, life starts to feel like yours again.

The Canyon of Performance

For so many of us, that gap feels like a canyon. We spend our days meeting expectations, checking boxes, and playing roles that were written for us by someone else. We look successful on paper—the career is steady, the house is clean—but we feel like strangers in our own lives.

We become so skilled at managing how the world perceives us that we lose the thread of how we actually feel. We’re saying yes to all the things, but not the things that actually energize our spirit. This leads to a specific kind of exhaustion—the quiet fatigue of living by an external compass. It’s the energy leaked when we prioritize managing an image over honoring our actual experience—a weight that feels especially heavy during life transitions—while our true self waits on the other side of the gap.

Measuring the Shift: Energy Leadership

In my coaching practice, we don't just talk about "vibes"; we look at the actual energy you are bringing to your life. This is where the Energy Leadership Index (ELI) and the ELi-360 come in.

The ELI is an attitudinal assessment that captures how you perceive and approach work and life. It measures your energy levels when you’re fine and when you’re stressed. When you are "performing," your energy is often catabolic (draining and stressful). When you are “leading from within”, we shift that energy to a more anabolic state (productive and purposeful). The ELi-360 gives the added perspective of how others perceive your energy.

By understanding your current energy levels, we can identify exactly where that "gap" is. Are you reacting to life from a place of conflict and fear, or are you responding from a place of consciousness and opportunity?

Lessons from a Burgundy Sunset

Recently, while enjoying a sunset in Burgundy, France, I reflected on this very journey. Away from the noise of the "hustle," I realized that my most powerful coaching happens when I open the door to my own vulnerability.

This is the "Open Door" philosophy. It is the belief that when we stop hiding the messy, beautiful, and uncertain parts of our humanity, we create a bridge for others to find their way home, too.

Updates & New Openings

As I move forward with this philosophy, I have a few updates to share from the coaching desk:

The "Open Door" Series: I am launching new content specifically focused on the ELI and how to shift your energy from "surviving" to "thriving."

Coaching Openings: I have two new spots available for 1:1 deep-dive coaching starting next month. These are for the "Old Souls" and the seekers who are ready to stop performing and start living.

The Newsletter: If you missed my recent update about the "Burgundy Shift," make sure you're subscribed to get these stories directly in your inbox.

Walking the Bridge

If you’re tired of the performance, I’m here to help you navigate that bridge. Whether you’re looking for clarity in a career transition or seeking deeper connections, the first step is honoring the truth of who you are right now.

The door is open. Whenever you're ready, let's walk through it together. We’ll start with a conversation to see if we’re the right fit to bridge that gap and bring you back to your true self.
